Review of the book

Animal by Nikki Rae

Synopsis: Ava has spent her life running from the monsters that lurk in the shadows, always the prey. She finally thinks she can settle down, have a normal life, and work on not being so scared of the world around her. That is until she runs into her worst fear. He has finally found the potential family he has always wanted. All he has to do is make his little bird sing. Will Ava escape with her humanity intact?

My review: It's not so dark but, it's not for everyone. I think this is not romance and I don't know why I expect one. Good writing, and very interesting story. Maybe everything is not black and white but, monster stays monster till the end and it's very refreshing. Girl fight till the end, and you must respect that because that is not a case in many similar books. There are some good, and some not so great moments but, it did hold your attention all the way through the book, and that is something.
Honestly, not what I expect, and that is why not more stars. It's not bad, just not great...but definitely little different than most.

Review of the book

Paladin (Paladin #1) by Slater Sally

Synopsis: Brash, cocky, and unbeatable with a sword (well, almost), Sam of Haywood is the most promising Paladin trainee in the kingdom of Thule… and knows it. The only problem is that Sam is really Lady Samantha, daughter of the seventeenth Duke of Haywood, and if her father has his way, she’ll be marrying a Paladin, not becoming one. But Sam has never held much interest in playing damsel-in-distress, and so she rescues herself from a lifetime of boredom and matrimonial drudgery. Disguised as a boy, Sam leaves home behind to fight demons-—the most dangerous monsters in Thule—-alongside the kingdom’s elite warriors. Pity that Tristan Lyons, the Paladin assigned to train her, is none other than the hero of her childhood. He hasn’t recognized her–yet–but if he does, he’ll take away her sword and send her packing. Sam is not the only trainee hiding secrets: Braeden is a half-demon with a dark past that might be unforgivable. Whether he can be trusted is anyone’s guess, including his. As demons wreak havoc across the land, rebellion stirs in the West, led by a rival faction of warriors. A war between men is coming, and Sam must pick a side. Will saving the kingdom cost her life–or just her heart?

My review:  Wath we have here is YA fantasy romance with a strong heroine, great fantasy world, and a great romance.  If that still isn't good enough for you then let see what else…

Interesting story – chack
Good writing – chack
Fine dialog– chack
Great characters – chack
Humor- chack
Friendship –chack
Action and intrigue – chack
Hot, brooding bad boy-type love interest – chack, chack, chack…

Did I mention  hot, brooding bad b… Ooooh yes, sorry (blush)!

“Paladin Tristan Lyons. The man who'd saved her and the reason she was here.

“Braeden didn’t fear much in life. Why would he be afraid of monsters when he was one himself?”
“Most demons lacked the rational thought patterns underpinning true communication. But they recognized Braeden as one of their own. More than that, they recognized him as their leader. These creatures that were so often agents of chaos bowed to him as though he were the alpha among wolves. Now that frightened him.”

Your must love men who-“was as violent and as merciless as the hounds who hunted him, but stronger and smarter. He was the predator and they the prey. They died like flies around him.”-and then blush when you caught him staring at you. Aaaaaaaa!!!

The end is not a cliffhanger, it is HEA, but you know there isn't The End…
Can't wait next one!!!

Unique: A New Breed by Reyna Pryde

Synopsis:  After five years in captivity as a blood slave to vampires, the girl named Jessica is no more. In her place stands a killer, driven by hate and seeking revenge for the scars she carries both inside and out. For nearly a decade she dedicated her life to ridding the world of the scourge known as vampires, placing her directly in the crosshairs of her enemy. Lilith, the Queen of Vampires, ordered her number-one assassin, Niten, to bring in the rogue vampire hunter, unharmed. With an offer from the queen, the hunter is given an opportunity to achieve the ultimate revenge on the vampire who destroyed her life. To do so, she will need to face her worst fears. As enemies become allies, she discovers that not all vampires are akin to the monsters from her past and Niten learns that there is nothing ordinary about this woman. She is completely... Unique.

My review:  Unique: A New Breed is amazing book to read. The storyline is very original, and the characters were very likable. It's full of action , romance, humor,...

I loved basically everything about it! The main character (the heroine) is a strong, no nonsense, kick a$$ heroine, named Unique.

And the hero, Niten,... I don't think could be any hotter !!!
Alpha male, strong, protective,  sexy,... you get the picture???

I definitely would recommend that you read this book if you like werewolves, vampires, paranormals, supernatural, hot, sexy , great story. Oh, you know what,...just read it. You'll not regret it.
I read only this one book by this author but, definitely, it wouldn't be my last.
Can't wait for the book 2 to come out!
